Scruffy puffin
This scruffy puffin had been burrowing away and was clearly quite pleased with it's achievements!
Puffins build their nests underground. The Inner Farne Island is the perfect place to make their home with it's grassy interior and solid cliff faces.
Puffins return to the Farne Islands each May in their thousands. If you want to photograph them up-close, this is one of the few places in the UK you're guaranteed to get good shots.
